A meeting of the Deputy Head of the Service with representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross took place in the SES

On March 12 in the SES were held a meting of the Deputy Head of the Service Ruslan Biloshytskyi with representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

The parties discussed issues of ICRC activities in the East of Ukraine and also tasks of work on 2019 year.

Ruslan Biloshitsky congratulated foreign guests and noted that SES highly appreciates cooperation.

"Thanks for this partnership, our units have an opportunity and already detecting on the territory of Ukraine explosive items of the Second World War and cleaned of areas under the control of the Ukrainian authorities from explosive objects," he said.

The Deputy Head of the Service also reminded that on January 20, 2015, an agreement was signed between the SES and the Red Cross Committee of Ukraine on cooperation in the implementation of measures aimed at protecting people from emergency situations and providing necessary assistance to suffered as a result of emergencies.

"We are interested in attracting international humanitarian and technical assistance, regardless of the volume, if it is aimed at improving the equipment and training of the personnel of our units or helping affected in eastern Ukraine. We working at one thing with you - helping people who need it, only humanitarian aid, and we save lives and property in case of emergency of a different nature, "he emphasized.

In turn, the head of the delegation, which ends his mission, Alan Eschliemann presented his colleague, Florence Gillette, Head of Mission, which begins its work in Ukraine from 2019.

"Active cooperation between us began in 2014, and we saw the results of this in Avdiivka, where work on the restoration of destroyed houses is underway. Together with you, our representatives provide operational responses to critical situations that arise in particular in the East of the country, and I am very grateful for this productive cooperation at the local level, "said Alan Eschliemann.

He added that at present, the ICRC is interested in conducting more trainings to strengthen the capabilities of the SES, in particular for rescuers who are engaged in the detection of explosive objects.

Separately, the sides emphasized the need to increase trainings among the Ukrainian population on actions in case of the identification of explosive objects.
