а) As of 07.00hrs April 24, the wildfires in the forestries of Ovruch district has been contained. The SES units of Ukraine continue their fire fighting support to the staff of Vystupovytskyi and Slovechansk forestries in fire extinguishing of separate smoldering sites of grass flooring, forest floor, stumps and wood. 686 persons and 99 vehicles, including 81 personnel and 20 vehicles from the SESU have been engaged to fire extinguishing.
b) On April 23, the SES of Ukraine received information about fire of the dry grass and forest that took place in the territory of the Poiaskivskyi forestry close to the village of Zamyslovychi of Olevsk district. As of 07.00hrs April 24, the fire extinguishing of separate sites of grass flooring, forest floor, stumps and wood is ongoing. 105 persons and 27 vehicles, among them 50 personnel and 12 vehicles (including 3 aircrafts, which performed 9 water drops (72 tons of water) during April 23) from the SESU have been engaged to fire extinguishing.
As of 07.00hrs April 24, the SES units of Ukraine continue their fire fighting support to the fire departments in the Exclusion zone in the territory of Lubianskyi, Paryshivskyi, Dytiatkivskyi and Denysovetskyi forestries. The main efforts are focused on containment of 2 smouldering fires (Kryva Hora village and Rudky village – Buriakivka village) of stumps, wood residues and a peat land in the burnt out areas. April 24 at 9:00 am fire near the Rozsokha village has been contained.
The SES heavy engineering vehicles and seven additional route clearance bulldozers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have been involved in making of firebreaks. Engineer vehicles created 863 km of fire trails. 1066 persons and 253 vehicles, including 1032 personnel and 238 vehicles (including 2 helicopters, which performed 118 water drops (236 tons of water) during April 23) from the SESU, have been engaged to fire extinguishing.
The radiation background in Kyiv and Kyiv region is within natural background limits and does not exceed natural background values. (Kyiv City– 0,011 mR/h., Kyiv region – 0,012 mR/h. with an acceptable background of 0,05 mR/h., Chernobyl town – 0,021 mR/h., Dosimetry control point Dytyatky – 0,02 mR/h. with a control acceptable background up to 0,055 mR/h.).
